Your holidays are more enjoyable when you explore the area, you immerse yourself in its culture, you go to discover the most authentic and representative corners, especially when they are less touristy.
DamaBlu is located on Numana waterfront, in an enviable position because if you point your compass here and draw a semicircle with a radius of 20 km, you will discover that you are in the centre of Riviera del Conero, in the very heart of Le Marche region, from where you can easily reach any destination. And before you go on an excursion, or as soon as you return, you can comfortably enjoy the sea in front of you 😊
Our resort is less than 4 km away from the small port of Numana, originally a fishermen village since the time of the Picentes, over 2,000 years ago. In the morning, before 9 a.m., take your bike or take a quiet stroll along the waterfront and observe the boats with the freshly caught fish and the mussels (wild mussels) just picked up from the seabed (N.B.: the sauce with the mussels is a must, we will prepare it together following the original recipe every Thursday 😊).
Then take a look at the hut at the entrance to the port, where you will find Aldo and Fausto Iurini, the last voices of a long shipbuilding tradition: wooden boards are turned by their hands into sturdy shapes with soft and rounded lines that will gently glide over the water and cut through the waves.
The old town of Numana offers breathtaking views, from Piazza Nova to the Tower, which you can admire by walking down a slight staircase, "la Costarella".
Numana also houses a small and intriguing museum dedicated to the Picentes, who had largely settled here and in Sirolo, leaving incredible finds in our land, such as the Queen's chariot.
Driving through the fascinating Conero provincial road, with its charming views of the countryside and the sea, it will take you 20 minutes to get to Ancona: we recommend that you take a walk from Passetto to the Cathedral, on Guasco hill, passing by the splendid Archaeological Museum and the Picture Gallery.
Loreto, Recanati, Potenza Picena, Osimo, Offagna, are just some of the most characteristic towns. Each of them is waiting for you with its own peculiarities and a common trait: the gaze endlessly wanders as if it were lost in the countryside and hills of Le Marche.
And if you want to explore a bit more, you can visit Ascoli Piceno, the city of travertine; Urbino, the ideal city of Raphael and hometown of Duke of Montefeltro; Frasassi caves, so spectacular and so large as to contain the Cathedral of Milan!
In a few lines it is impossible to describe all the amazing places you could discover. When you arrive we will suggest the best ones in which you can eat or go shopping, because Le Marche is the region where Tod's, Prada, Frau, Guzzini and many other companies are located.
