Adriatic Beach

Around our bungalows&residence within a short coastal area of the Adriatic, cliffs and beaches combine. The quality of our holiday area has been awarded 18 times with the “Bandiera Blu”, the quality sign of the “Blue Flag”– last but not least for the excellent water quality at our area of the Adriatic sea.
At Numana, where the residence & holiday bungalows of the DamaBlu are situated, almost all of the beaches are equipped with parasols and sunloungers usually not more than 5 rows, which allows you to enjoy a stunning view from your sunlounger to the panorama of Mount Conero.
North of the little fishing harbour of Numana a few beautifull beaches (Italian: Spiagge) are located, and we can really recommend you to visit them: Spiaggia Gigli, Spiaggia Urbani, Spiaggia di San Michele – Sassi Neri, Spiaggia delle due Sorelle, Spiaggia della Cava, Spiaggia dei Gabbiani, Spiaggia della Vela and the Spiaggia di Mezzavalle. You don´t have to pay a visitors tax to enjoy these beaches. The operators of these beaches, who take care of keeping them tidy, rent parasols and sunloungers. Thus you can have a walk there, but if you want to enjoy a beach day you would have to rent a sunlounger. If you prefer an “un-managed” beach (in Italian: spiaggia libera), we recommend the Spiaggia di San Michele and the Spiaggia delle Due Sorelle where you can have a beach day on your own towel or blanket for free.
Our beach hints: The most beautifull Adriatic beaches next to the Damablu residence & holiday bungalows!

Spiaggia di San Michele / Sassi Neri

The San Michele-beach is gently sloped and its mixed sandy-fine-pebbly beach lies underneath picturesque green Conero-hills and bizarre cliffs. It´s north end has been named “Sassi Neri” (black pebbles) because of the dark cliff coast. Windsurfers love this part of the beach because of its perfect wind conditions when the regional “Maestrale” wind appears. At one part of this beach you may rent parasols and sunloungers – you´ll find also a restaurant and a beach bar there, on the other beach part you`re free to bring your own equipment.
To this beach you have comfortable access through a footpath of the Parco della Repubblica of the town of Sirolo, or you can get there with the bus (from the 15. June – 31. August every 30 minutes), which stops close to the beach.

Spiaggia delle Due Sorelle

Symbol of the Conero-Riviera, this beach has been named due to its two cliffs, one aside another – like two sisters (Italian: sorelle) rising out of the sea. Like an amphitheatre this beautifull beach opens towards the Adriatic sea.
For all the lovers of “un-managed“, free beaches on the Adriatic, without parasols or sunloungers: This is the beach of your choice! The “Due Sorelle” beach has access only from the sea side, either with a boat you rent or with a little ferry, the “traghetto”, leaving at Numana (www.traghettatoridelconero.it). Those who like hiking will enjoy arriving by foot to the beach. You start at the 2”Passo del Lupo“ and will have to find your track between rocks and pebbles down to the beach.

Spiaggia dei Gabbiani

Only from the Adriatic sea you have access to the “seagull beach”, the “Spiaggia dei Gabbiani“, which lies like a gemstone between bright cliffs and steep slopes. We recommend you rent a small boat at a Numana boat rental, the “cooperativa ormeggiatori di Numana” and drive to this unique Adriatic beach – a romantic adventure!

Spiaggia di Mezzavalle

North of the town of Portonovo is located a wild-romantic sandy beach with rose coloured sand. Driving the well cured road to the beach, you´ll enjoy stunning views over the bay of Portonovo: with its pier, the Napoleonic fort, the De Bosis-Tower and the naked cliffs of Mount Conero.
The Mezzavalle-beach permits a relaxed beach life with a typical Marche restaurant on the beach, where you can have delicious grilled fish. And during your beach day you have access to bath rooms and showers. Just park aside the country road or at the huge parking ground near to the beach – it`s only a 15 minutes by foot to the beach. And this beautifull beach is really worth the walk!
Our hint: when you are around, you shouldn´t miss a snack at the nearby farms restaurant, the Azienda Agricola Pieri. They bake a delicious spelt bread and serve it together with traditional bean stews and with a good Marche red wine, the Rosso Conero, which is typical for the region.
